I always wanted to have this book and finally decided to buy it. But I was disappointed. I never write book reviews, but since the Geisha world and its culture is one of my favorite I had to do it.First of all the design of the book is terribly old fashioned. It seems like it was done on Microsoft Word, copy and pasting the images with text in between. In some sections of the book it almost looks tacky, with some strange typography trying to imitate an "oriental" way of writing.Also, the pictures were not as good as I was hoping for. They look old and overly posed. Also the printing quality of the book is not the best.I will keep the book because I love japanese culture and specially the traditions from Kyoto. But if you want something more contemporary and better arranged about Geisha you could try: "The Kagai in Kyoto" by Hiroshi Mizobuchi and "UTSUYAKA" by Taka Kobayashi. Both books are published by Mitsumura Suiko Shoin and are available on Amazon. They are amazing and beautiful.
