The shorts are super adorable and super comfortable (so says my 4 year old).The size Small isn't what you'd expect from typical store sizes. If you read the sizing description, it is fairly accurate... Small is like a size 4-6 in little girls, even though in most stores a 4-6 is called an "extra small" and 6-6x or 6-8 is a "small". JUST MAKE SURE YOU READ THE SIZING CHART in everything you purchase online. Now even as a 4-6, the small is a touch small. Not enough that they didn't fit, but my daughter is closer to the 4 size of the 4-6 range, and they fit perfectly, as in, no room to grow at all (which is fine, but just make sure you know what you're ordering). I'd suggest sizing up one if you don't want the shorts to be super tight, or if you size closer to the next size anyways.In general, the shorts will and probably should fit snugly, as they are obviously shorts to wear to dance class. They seem durable and well made and they appear as they do in the picture. They only problem at all is the sizing, which is just a bit deceptive and abnormal, but can be determined through their provided sizing chart. I'd suggest going up one if you are on the mid to larger end of a size.
