I got the kinect for my kids for Christmas. I was hoping the kinect would be easier to use then the Wii for my 2 year old and 5 year old. Of all of the games I got them, they like this one the best. I finally got my 5 year old to understand how to work it. I wish it came with some kind of "adult" override, where we can use the controller to select options for our kids. Unfortunately, if my kids are playing while I am doing other things like making dinner, I have to constantly stop walk over to the area, wave my hands for it to recognize me, then select their options. The "playlist mode" is ok. The best way around the constant selecting that i've found. The songs are good...I and my daughter had such a blast with the games, things I like most about it:The real kids dancing in the game all seem to have a lot of fun and dance with tons of enthusiasm and energy, which make us feel so much into the dance. We always prefer real dancers over computer animated "robots".My favorite dance is the Crocodile Rock, the leading girl dances very well, her funny looking face and pose cracked me up every time.My daughter's favorites are Five Little Monkeys, I am a Gummy Bear, Lollipop (the girl makes a lot of funny look/pose too), Summer Song, Jingle Bells.Overall a great game for kids, and adult like me too...My two daughters (ages 6 and 4) love dancing, but this game causes more frustration than fun for them. Many of the songs are too advanced for them leading to low scores and reduces the number of songs they're willing to try. Additionally, the random score bonuses at the end of the round end up either demoralizing the child with the lower score by rewarding the obvious winner or "blueshelling" the winner by allowing the other to leapfrog for no reason. The developers seem to have included this "feature" to balance out the wins and make it fun for everyone, but it accomplishes exactly the opposite. The Kinect is usually a pretty good controller for my youngest daughter, but something about the way this game was programmed causes it to not recognize her at all. It will not let her control the game for some reason and often loses her during the dance even though she's still right there. For a game marketed to kids, it seems they did a pretty poor job of ensuring it would work for their most obvious age range (3-7). We will end up trading this game in because they never play it anymore - it's just too frustrating for both of them for different reasons.I guess I'm spoiled by Dance Central. Just Dance Kids 2 really cannot compare to Dance Central at all. When music starts a few kids on screen just start dancing. It does not break down the moves for you and it does not teach you the moves. And the recording was cheaply made. Seriously, I should have just bought a DVD for kids dancing and let my kid just dance along...I still give this game 3 stars because the songs in this game is age appropriate for my 5 year-old girl, and she likes dancing along with those songs, and the dance moves are easy enough for her to follow. Dance Central is good but most of the songs are definitely not age appropriate for little kids.My four year old daughter and I love playing this game! My daughter loves the songs and can even get lots of the dance moves. I jump around and get some exercise while I spend time with my daughter. Unfortunately the actual game play of this game is horrible because the game is so buggy. The game will often not register our movements and it can take several tries for us to even get the songs playing. I just wish this game was more responsive to our movements because other than that we love it! We have it for the xbox 360 kinect. This is great for little girls but someone should've told them to highlight that. Most of the dances are quite feminine. Cute, but feminine. I was hoping for something more unisex. The grownup Dance Central has unisex dance moves, but this kid version of Just Dance must've not been created with boys in mind. Maybe little girls are the target group for this type of game? I guess there are more "traditional girl" dance classes in the world than "traditional boy" dance classes. But my little 5 year old guy loves to dance. We have lots of fun dance cds for him, so I didn't think that this would be much different. But oh... so it is. I gave the game to my neighbors who have 2 little girls. It's now their favorite game!My 6 year old son loves Dance Central for the Kinect but the songs are not always kid appropriate. I thought this might be a good alternative for him but he has played it once or twice since receiving it. On the plus side it has child safe music and dance moves. The game also gives different difficulty levels for different age children. The dance move sensor does not seem as good as Dance Central and seems to frustrate my son. He also does not like the music choices as well. The game probably would have been a better hit if my child had start with this game instead of going backwards from Dance Central. We have been so happy with this game. My daughter and her friends love it. The selection of songs is great, with a nice variety for different age ranges. My daughter especially enjoys the songs from movies, like Despicable Me. The real kids on the screen make it easier to follow, and we found the dances easier and more fun than on the other dance games we have (while we enjoy Dance Central and Zumba, we are a little klutzy, and have an easier time with this one). My daughter has special needs and sometimes gets frustrated with using game menus, but this one has been fine for her with no problems, and she and her friends have been having a great time.I only gave it 4 stars, because the game itself is a bit slow on character recognition (it takes 30 secs to recognize you and start to work), so every-time you walk away, you need to wave your hand for 30 secs to get back to the game (a bit frustrating for kids).Besides that, the game is fine, and kids like it. There's different types of music, so it works with multiple ages.Got this game for the kids, and they love every minute of it. Great way to keep those kids active on those rainy days. A plus for parents is watching your kids dance away while excersizing without even knowing they're doing it.Some pretty good songs for kids, about 10 they like. Could be more user friendly when selecting songs and creating playlists. Play lists seem to disappear and can't figure out how to name them. Kinect loses the kids sometimes and you have to "hide" and come back before it picks them up again. Not the quality of the Nat Geo wrt the Kinect accuracy. Over all it's pretty fun with some work arounds that require an adult to help.Even the 2 year old gets into the game. Good choice of songs. Keeps the children interested and active for hoursItem arrived quickly. Product is perfect. Great seller. Thank you.
