The smooth fitting moret kid's girls' dance basics pant is crafted in a flexible cotton stretch blend. A superb basic for your youngster's jazz, tap, or modern dance endeavors, this versatile pant with a gently flared leg also makes a great casual wardrobe staple.
I purchased these for my daughter as active wear; mid-Spring she was wearing 6/6x–7/8 depending on brand (e.g., OshKosh 7; Lucky 6 made it through the summer for shorts; Target's Cat & Jack 7/8 were a bit too large...), ...so I ordered the Small (aka, 7/8)...(?). That seemed appropriate based on the reviews & based on known sizes that fit relative to other brands... & I would say they fit pretty well, with ~some room to grow. My daughter is somewhat tall for her age & slender—so, pulled to the waist line, they were the appropriate length, the elastic fit to the waistline, but not quite as taught as ideal. So, that did make them seem long initially...Since mid-Spring, ...my daughter has indeed grown. She jumped in height over the Summer, & recently (~Nov.), she was wearing them and they were now fitting perfect. She didn't have the opportunity to wear them as much as I thought over the Summer with Indoor Activity being discouraged and Outdoor Activity being in the record setting, barely tolerable heat...(?) Nonetheless, she was now wearing them (as general or casual wear) and thought they were great. And in terms of quality of material, their flexibility as active wear, the style (I think boot cut pants are infinitely more stylish than tapered legs...always...), and the truly bargain price for what you get, I too think they are great. In fact, as active wear for dancing, Yoga, Tai-Chi & other martial arts, as just comfort wear, or even as general wear, these are entirely suited. So, I ordered another pair the next size up so that she can (hopefully) transition into that size with relative ease...eventually (I think they'll do well ...she's still growing...? But the jump from Small to Medium though...a bit more than expected... That's okay though—it's an investment in future pants!). So, as a parent, I would definitely be willing to recommend these pants—I'd say order standard sizing. But, even if you ordered one size up...(?), I don't think you could really go wrong...
